What’s “have” anyway?

27 02 2007

Sometimes I just wish people would stop long enough to weigh the consequences of their choices and then do the right, noble, considerate thing.

Other times I just wish people would send me money and presents. Which is really the same thing, when you think about it.

This morning George had to drive to Nacogdoches. Before he left he gave me a hug and kiss and said, “Are you going to behave today?”

I feigned offense. “Of course.” Our eyes met for a long moment, then I added, “I always behave exactly like . . . myself.”

He smirked. “That’s what worries me.”

Okay, I’m off to behave. But first I should probably find a helmet and some goggles . . .

That’s because I really am your inner monologue. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! (That was supposed to be scary. Was it?)

Oh, I’m not picky about denominations. I’ll take Presbyterian money. Or Baptist. Methodist. Holy Order of Emergent Brethren and Sistren of Relevance. Whatever.

As for presents, I like mostly expensive ones.

Thanks, Allen. I’ll watch the mail!

Hmm. That would be “not” (on the car) and “not” (on the tattoo).

Oh, behave!

I read your blog today and heard Austin Powers telling you to behave in my head.

So were you a good little monkey? (Okay, now that’s too much Curious George coming through right there)
