Happiness is . . .

Spending Father’s Day with your father . . .

And your daughter and her father . . .

And your granddaughter and her father . . .

And your other granddaughter and her father.

Happy Fathers (and Daughters) Day! From our grateful family to yours.

Giving thanks in community for fathers who:

#135 Treasure family
#136 Provide and protect
#137 Teach wisdom
#138 Lead by example
#139 Take time to listen
#140 Discipline in love
#141 Instill confidence
#142 Laugh often
#143 Forgive readily
#144 Pray without ceasing
#145 Stand firm on the Word
#146 Genuinely enjoy their children
#147 Adore their children’s mother

There are no perfect fathers, but there are fathers who make it easy to believe our Heavenly Father is strong, loving, and good. I’m thankful today for men who are powerful enough to be weak, who lean hard into grace, who know their steps are ordered by the Lord. He delights in their way. Though they fall, they shall not be cast down, for the Lord upholds them with His hand.

And they have the sense to never let go.

Of course, that leaves their other hand free.

Oh baby pictures always make me smile. And this line you wrote, “There are no perfect fathers, but there are fathers who make it easy to believe our Heavenly Father is strong, loving, and good.” Thankful that there are men out there that do this.

I love this post, Jeanne! The gratitude list is so powerful and thoughtfully written; you give thanks for small details that we so often overlook…such as leaving one hand free. Beautiful.
