We have our Father’s ear

2 06 2012

I confess to a bit of self amusement with this one.
But isn’t it amazing to think we really do have our Father’s ear?
He hears our every cry,
even the ones we
try to hide
behind a smile.

Be comforted.
You are heard.
You are held.
Your Father
is nearer than your breath,
and He delights
in your trust.

What a wonder.

Oh, this is so, so sweet. And a perfect illustration of a marvelous – too marvelous to behold, sometimes – truth. I needed this one tonight. Trying to figure out if I can actually blog about this evening or not – I hope so. SUCH mixed emotions, so rich with pathos and joy at a family celebration that was ringed about with the reality of loss, the loss of ones integral to our circle…yet somehow, still there with us. Very rich, but also exhausting – even overwhelming some moments… Thanks for this, dear Jeanne.

Dear Diana, I’m so thankful this image and scripture met you in a place of need. May the Lord hold and enfold your heart and give you just the right words. And may all your aching places be filled with His peace.

Much love.

Sweet illustration, Jeanne…and I cannot believe she is a year old already.

Knowing the Father hears me when I call to Him has been huge for me over the years. Thank you for this reminder. xox

Thanks, Patricia! We’re going to a little birthday party for Naomi this afternoon. Such fun! 🙂

These photos make me happy on so many levels. The longer I live, the more I realize how His nearness truly is my good and how desperately I depend on His grace, moment by moment. That we are held and heard — such a mercy. xo

Thanks, Lisa! That’s our son, Luke, and his baby girl. I love watching them together. His delight in her is such a great reminder of God’s tender, patient love.

Happy birthday, little one!

This is great. Last week I watched a friend of mine hold his new daughter and whisper things in her ear. She was all fussy and mad, but when her dad lifted her up and held her close, she relaxed and kind of leaned in to him (in an infant sort of way). It was such a great image of God’s love for us. Just like this one you’ve shared today.

Thanks, Deidra! And I love the image you shared. So beautiful, the Father’s love for His child!
